第93屆奧斯卡金像獎頒獎典禮25日（台灣時間26日上午）登場，《遊牧人生》奪得最佳影片、39歲華裔女導演趙婷榮獲最佳導演獎，成為奧斯卡史上第二位抱回小金人的女性導演。她在得獎感言上特別提及《三字經》的詞句「人之初，性本善」，將獎座獻給堅持保有良善信念與勇氣的人，並呼籲人與人之間彼此善待。
美國女演員法蘭西絲麥朵曼（Frances McDormand）憑《遊牧人生》（Nomadland）三度抱回奧斯卡影后，由於她身兼《遊牧人生》製片，成為本屆奧斯卡另一大贏家，片中出現的真實「遊牧者」也一同上台分享榮耀。

83歲傳奇男星安東尼霍普金斯（Anthony Hopkins）則以《父親》（The Father）的失智父親角色二度榮膺奧斯卡最佳男主角，成為史上最高齡影帝得主。已故《黑豹》男星查德維克博斯曼（Chadwick Boseman）則與小金人擦身而過。

南韓國寶級資深女演員尹汝貞憑《夢想之地》（Minari）入圍最佳女配角，成為史上首位入圍奧斯卡金像獎的南韓女演員，73歲的尹汝貞特別飛到美國領獎，最後也順利抱回小金人，她也是1957年來第二位獲此獎的亞裔女星。
尹汝貞以英文發表感言，表示自己平時都是從電視上觀賞典禮，見到頒獎者布萊德彼特（Brad Pitt）本人十分開心，也感謝奧斯卡特別善待韓國人，向兒子展示獎座稱「這是媽咪努力工作的成果」，幽默發言博得滿堂彩。

疫情下的奧斯卡
本屆典禮延續前兩年慣例，並沒有設置主持人；而受新冠疫情影響，典禮規模大幅縮水，並於洛杉磯聯合車站（Union Station）、倫敦、巴黎多個現場連線舉行，最佳電影歌曲的表演節目也改為事前預錄。
這是好萊塢時隔一年再次舉行大型實體頒獎典禮，出席影人皆須接種新冠疫苗，亦遵守嚴格防疫措施，去年憑《寄生上流》大放異彩的南韓導演奉俊昊，則在南韓透過視訊連線頒獎。
本屆入圍最大贏家為大衛芬奇（David Fincher）執導的黑白片《曼克》（Mank），共獲得10項提名成為最大贏家，華裔女導演趙婷的《游牧人生》（Nomadland）、描寫南韓移民故事的《夢想之地》（Minari）、《猶大與黑色彌賽亞》（Judas and the Black Messiah）、《靜寂的鼓手》（Sound of Metal）和《芝加哥七人案：驚世審判》（The Trial of the Chicago 7）則以6項入圍居次。
史上最多元入圍名單
呼應近年對奧斯卡「太白」、「太男」的批判，本屆奧斯卡金像獎端出十分多元的入圍名單，最佳男女主配角20位入圍者共有9名非白人面孔，女性影人共獲得76項提名，也創下歷史紀錄。
今年更是亞裔影人大放異彩的一年。趙婷是歷來第一位獲提名最佳導演的非白人女性，歷來也僅有5位女性擠進奧斯卡最佳導演獎入圍名單，她也與韓裔美籍導演鄭李爍（Lee Isaac Chung）同樣獲得最佳導演、編劇雙料入圍的肯定；《夢想之地》男主角史蒂芬元（Steven Yeun）入圍影帝、資深女星尹汝貞則成為史上首位入圍奧斯卡的韓籍女演員。
