exhibition match (n.) 表演賽
LeBron James is playing an exhibition match in China, I really want to go.LeBron James 要去中國打表演賽，我非常想要去。
server (n.) 發球方
serve 這個字原本的意思是「提供服務」，但是在網球等類似運動中它可以當作動詞，表示「發球」。後面加上 r 則成為「發球的人」，也就是「發球方」。
The umpire warned the server over time-wasting.裁判警告發球超時。
write sb. off (phr.) 看衰某人
write sb. off 這個動詞片語有「認為某人無用、注定失敗」，也就是中文口語所說的「看衰」之意。
Don't write him off! I think he still has the potential to be a star in the NBA.不要看衰他！他可是去年 NBA 選秀新星。
let (n.) 觸網球
網球比賽中如果聽到國外裁判喊 let，是什麼意思呢？let 在英文裡面是使役動詞，表示「讓」，而在網球運動中則是「觸網球」的意思。
In tennis, a let is when a ball from a serve hits the net but still lands in the opposing service box.網球運動中，所謂的觸網球是指發球時觸碰到網子但仍在對手發球區落地。
lob (n.) 高吊球
網球球技有很多種，其中「高吊球」的英文就是 lob，其他常見球技如：drop shot (放小球)。
但是不料，今天 Johnny 最喜歡的球星本日表現不佳，截至上半場都尚未得分…
Johnny: Five-love? I can't believe this.Johnny: 怎麼會！五比零？我不敢相信。
James: Calm down. The match isn't over yet.James: 冷靜一點，比賽還沒結束。
Johnny: Let's go for a wander and come back for the result. How about that?Johnny: 我們先在附近晃晃再回來看結果如何？
James: Okay.James: 好啊。

love (n.) 零分
在運動賽事中，若看到 love 是什麼意思呢？別誤會，跟「愛」一點關係都沒有，其實在網球計分中，love 就是「零分」的意思。
He just took the match 6-love, 6-4, 6-3.他以 6 比 0、6 比 4 以集 6 比3 的成績贏得比賽。
setter (n.) 網前球員
不論是羽球或是網球比賽中，站在網前的球員英文稱之為 setter。
The setter in this badminton doubles match is super hot.這場羽球雙打比賽的網前球員超級帥。
low shot (n.) 短打
羽球球技中有一種是短打，而「短打」的英文是 low shot，low 是形容詞「低的」，shot 泛指球類運動中的「擊球」。
The player hit a final low shot to win the game.那個球員以最後一記短球贏得比賽。
suspend (v.) 暫停；終止
suspend 為動詞，意思是「暫停；終止」或是「勒令停職、禁賽」。
Rain has suspended play.比賽因雨暫停了。
The umpire decided to suspend play due to darkness.因為光線太暗鎖以裁判決定停賽。
